Tour on the historic city center. Salvador, a colonial city, was Brazil's first capital and most important trade center. It still features its barroque architecture and signs of its distant past as a the main gateway to the slave tradein Brazil. The guide will take you to the most important churches, built by Portuguese settlers, the "baixa do sapateiro", where all the merchants used to pitch their newly imported goods brought overseas and that still features the atmosphere from the discovery. And most notably, the guide will take you to the "pelourinho", which is now considered a world's landmark and where you will get in contact with Bahia's heritage.
